Další signature ukulele od našeho dobrého přítele 4stringboye, který na jaře 2025 připravil nádherný ukulele retreat v Kostelci s Christopherem Shannonem Davisem a zároveň byl hostem Českého ukulele festivalu.

Představujeme Flight 4SB – signature tenorové ukulele vzniklé ve spolupráci značky Flight a ukulele umělce 4stringboye. Tento model kombinuje osvědčenou dvojici tónových dřev – masivní smrkovou horní desku a masivní palisandrové luby a zadní desku – pro silný, jasný a projasněný zvuk, který se opravdu neztratí.

Na přání Sammyho Turtona (4stringboy) je celý nástroj laděn do černé barvy: lesklý černý vrch, černé ladicí mechaniky, černé kolíky v kobylce – a poprvé v historii Flightu také černý luxusní gig bag. Přesto ukulele neztrácí přirozený charakter – tělo z palisandru má lesklý finiš, který zvýrazňuje kresbu dřeva, a najdeme zde i detaily z javoru s kresbou spalted maple – na rozete, výřezu, lemování, značkách poloh i hlavici.

 Zvuk a konstrukce

Design a funkce

Another signature Flight ukulele from a friend of ours, 4stringboy who made a wonderful uke retreat with Christopher Shannon Davis in Spring 2025 at Kostelec, also a guest of the Czech Ukulele Festival

The Flight 4SB, a signature ukulele designed through a collaboration of Flight and ukulele artist 4stringboy.  The 4SB takes a popular pairing of tone woods and dresses it up for the modern player.  Combining a solid spruce top with a solid rosewood body, the Flight 4SB has a loud, crystal clear tone that stands out when you play it. Sammy Turton (4stringboy) wanted the ukulele to be dressed in black, which is why the Flight 4SB has a gloss black top, black tuners, black bridge pins, and a first for Flight—a black deluxe gig bag. 

The ukulele also features some natural elements, such as a gloss finish on the rosewood body that reveals its natural grain, as well as the rosette, cutaway, bindings, fret markers and headstock which are finished with caramel swirls of spalted maple.

Solid Spruce Top, Solid Rosewood Back and Sides achieve a sound that is both deep, warm and rich in the mid and lows as well as providing a clarity and projection in the high end. This is a very common combination of guitar tonewoods that works incredibly well on this tenor ukulele.

The neck of the Flight 4SB is made of African mahogany.  It is strong and smooth, adding to the warm tone of the Flight 4SB.  The fretboard is made of rosewood, a beautiful, strong, and hard wood that can add warmth to the sound of an instrument while lessening harsh higher frequencies of an instrument.

The Flight 4SB has a rosewood bridge, as well as a real bone nut and a compensated saddle. Compensated saddles help to properly set the intonation of each string. The Flight 4SB includes a pin bridge system, which helps keep the strings properly aligned on the ukulele, as well as to create a break angle over the saddle that transfers vibrations efficiently to the soundboard of the ukulele.

With a stylish spalted maple rosette and a matching spalted maple scalloped cutaway.  The scalloped cutaway offers access to the highest frets without compromising the volume and tone of the ukulele.

The Flight 4SB shares the unique “modified” slotted headstock as some of the other ukuleles in our Royal Series. The headstock looks amazing and will attract action on its own, while the design is strong and effective, making sure that the break angle at the nut results in the best possible tone of your ukulele.

The Flight 4SB comes with a special black Deluxe Gig Bag with an incredible velvety interior.  The gig bag of the Flight 4SB will catch as much attention as the ukulele itself!
